Today was our gender reveal party and it was great. We had 30-40 people show up: everyone from friends to family. People drove from all directions to come! The weather was great, hot and humid, but great (no rain). We had tons of food, grilled up hot dogs and played yard games.
Before cutting the cake, I had people sign the back of my shirt. They had to either sign on one side if they they thought the baby was going to be a boy, or on the other side if they thought the baby was going to be a girl. It will also be a fun way to see who was at the party:)
After everyone appeared to be at the party it was time to cut our awesome cake. My cousin Brent's girlfriend Ashley made our cake for us. I was expecting a typical cake with frosting on it and maybe some writing...but no way! She went above and beyond and made a cake in the shape of a BABY! The inside was either pink (for girl) or blue (for boy). Time to cut and find out! Since Chad and I already knew the gender of the baby we thought it would be more fun to let the new "grandmas" cut the cake and be surprised....they cut it and the piece of cake was.... HOT PINK! It's a girl! Tears were shed, smiles were appearing and hugs were flying around the room.

That looks like a blast! And what a cute cake! I have heard so many people having parties like this. Such a fun way to share the good news!
